Division of Dental Anatomy and Oral Histology

Includes the study of oral and dental tissues and descriptive anatomy of teeth and occlusion. It provides students with comprehensive knowledge of oral histology and the development of all tissues as well as link between the composition and function of each of these tissues.


Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology

In this division, the student learns about the various oral diseases of the teeth and soft and hard tissues in the mouth through studying the microscopic changes of the different cells. The method also includes the study of diseases that affect the body in general and characterized by the appearance of symptoms in the oral cavity, face or jaws.

 


Division of Oral Medicine

The division is interested in training students to acquire clinical skills to examine and diagnose various oral diseases and identify their causes, whether local or related to diseases of the body organs. Also, the students are trained to identify the symptoms of these diseases and to use diagnostic methods to ascertain the type of disease such as taking samples of oral tissues, in addition to develop the appropriate treatment plan and follow up and coordinate with the doctors treating the patient in cases of various diseases.


Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology

The Division aims to familiarize student with technical methods to take different radiographs and develop them. It also aims to train students to read the radiographs and identify diseases of the mouth. The student is also taught ways to protect the patient and the doctor from the risk of exposure to radiation use. The Division also trains students to receive new patients and carry out a full examination, including patient history and clinical examination as well as different methods of diagnosis, and the development of appropriate treatment plan for each patient.
